Here's are some
photos of my 1995 BMW K 75S. It came to live at my house in 2001 after my first
bike trip to Alaska on my 2000 Kawasaki Concours. The 2000 was my second
Concours as I had a 1986 that I rode 186,000 miles. The Alaska trip made we
think I needed to get a smaller bike for the kind of riding I enjoy now days.
I used to like
high speed back road blitzing for 500-700 mile days across America. Now days I
prefer a slower pace incorporating a fair degree of wandering around and
including excursions onto gravel roads and back byways. I'm also not as strong
as I was 20 years ago and the size of the bike needs to reflect the reality that
I don't want to try to move a 600 lb. bike around the parking lot.
Down to California on 101
Here is all you ever wanted to know about my 1995
K75S.
From the factory it has:
- ABS
- heated grips
- hazard flashers
- Arctic silver with a dark red seat
It also has:
- A Corbin seat in maroon with leather seat inserts - (have
original seat in excellent condition)
- Moto lights
- Staintune muffler (have the original in good condition as well)
- A system which flashes the brake light on application and uses
the turn signals as running lights in addition to turn signals
- In line headlamp relay
- In line horn relay
- Fiamm horns
- Progressive Fork springs
- Progressive Rear Shock (about 15k miles on this rebuildable
shock - it is in very good condition!)
- Bag liners for the hard bags
- Night reflector material on back and sides of bags (great
visibility feature at night!)
- BMW expandable tank bag specifically for the K bike with rain
cover
- Dunlop D205 SportMax Touring Radials (about 4k on these)
- AeroFlow smoked windscreen
- BMW long stem mirrors (have original short stem mirrors in
excellent condition)
- Saeng Quick Scan Pro blind spot mirror mounted on left side
It has the following flaws:
- Rock chips and fine stress cracks in the paint of the belly pan
- Rock chip in the paint above the headlight
- Original plastic windscreen mounting hardware replaced with
metal toggle bolts and rubber washers.
